Jean Albert Capdeville

Jean Albert Capdeville was born 2 November 1889 (Saturday) - Lencouacq.

Here are two photos of Monsieur Capdeville holding the boha. In 2022 one of his descendants present during this photo shoot, affirms that neither Monsieur Capdeville nor his father knew how to play the boha.
According to him, this boha could have been found on site when the family moved into the mill.

the instrument is complete and includes:


- the shearling pocket finished with a braided cord,
- the decorated wooden pihet (engravings),
- the two simple cane reeds of the idioglotale type,
- the stump of the pewter-decorated pihet,
- the removable part of the brunidèir which has lost its pewter decoration,
- the decorated bohet (engravings),
- pewter encrusted bohet stump.

This instrument, recorded on November 10, 2011 at the MUPOP (Museum of Popular Music) in Montluçon, by Patrick Burbaud, is listed under the reference Boha 1966.114.2.

Mr. Frédéric Vigouroux carried out an on-site photography session on November 9, 2011.

This boha has long been mistakenly attributed to Francois Mivielle under the reference BdG-2011-2-Mivielle.
