François Mivielle

François Mivielle from Allons (47) is listed on page 54 of Lothaire Mabru's book
"La cornemuse des landes de Gascogne",
Belin-Beliet, Centre Lapios du Bazadais,
éd. Les amis du Bazadais 1986:

"... It was in the Rieussort district that François Mivielle (1878-1976) learned the bagpipe with his uncle. If for a while he plays the bagpipe as well than the hurdy-gurdy. It seems that he gave up the boha quite early because only the oldest people remember him as a bagpiper, especially in Giscos, or he settles down at his wedding. There, the young people retained him each year to animate their various balls. He then lives in Captieux where he is best known as old man, and regularly plays at the "casino" with other old man ".
